Why hire Josh to photograph your event?
My primary goal when covering your event is to capture the joyful energy of the people you care about. I've spent years developing a unique eye and skillset that tap directly into the exuberance of the present moment. Every hand-edited image you receive from me is imbued with my cheerful vitality.
What kind of events do you photograph?
I'm primarily hired to document events at UVA and around Charlottesville: departmental ceremonies, class reunions, awards banquets, graduation and holiday parties, surprise proposals, and the occasional micro-wedding.
Distinguished clients include UVA School of Medicine, UVA Medical Alumni Association, MicroAire, UVA School of Law, Paramount Theater, Virginia Department of Health, and Virginia Festival of the Wheel. Hoowithaview is a certified small business by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
What areas of Virginia do you cover?
I live and work in Charlottesville (go Hoos!) and cover the surrounding central Virginia area.
Do you photograph weddings?
Yes, if it's the right fit. I am not a wedding photographer by trade but occasionally get hired for smaller ceremonies where my skills and personality are a good match for the venue and couple. Reach out if you'd like to discuss your wedding with me!
How far in advance should I book?
Event photography is my full-time profession and I offer year-round availability and scheduling. My busiest time of year is April-June, and I book as far out as a year or more to reserve dates. I'm also often available for last-minute parties and celebrations!
How many photos will I get per hour of coverage?
You can expect to receive approximately 35-40 high-resolution images per hour of event coverage.
How long will it take for the photos to be ready?
My typical turnaround for event photography is 72 hours (weddings are an exception). Your edited photos will be securely stored in Dropbox where you can access and download them anytime. I do not charge you for anything except the session fee (there are no additional charges for downloading the digital files).
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit/debit cards, check, cash, Venmo, and UVA purchase orders.
