Individual Session
$325 per session
We'll create striking images that joyfully reflect your time at UVA. Individual sessions include an array of different poses on the Lawn and around the Rotunda.
Large Group
$350 per session
My large group sessions create exuberant memories for 5 or more grads. Includes a mix of whole and small group images (individual poses not included.)

Graduation Photoshoot FAQs

What's the most important thing for me to know? 🙋🏼♀️
The energy that you bring to the session is what will be reflected in your images. My job is to bring out your most natural, joyful self and capture it with my camera. As a result Hoowithaview grad shoots are fast-paced and a lot of fun. Expect exuberance!
How far in advance should I book my session? 📅
My graduation season generally books full by mid-spring. 2024 has limited availability for sessions, so if you have a preferred date please let me know and I’ll happily reserve it for you.
How does booking work? 📖
Once we've agreed upon a date for your graduation shoot I'll send you my photography agreement to review and sign. You pay for your session at the time of booking to reserve your date. Your payment is fully refundable for any reason leading up to the day of your session.
What time will my session start? 🌄
Most of my grad shoots start within the hour after sunrise to make use of the pleasing morning light and small crowds on the Lawn. Afternoon or early evening shoots are also available upon request.
How long will my photoshoot last? ⌚
Individual grad shoots generally last 45-60 minutes. Large group shoots span about an hour, while small group and two-grad sessions clock in around 75 minutes. I don’t book sessions back-to-back, so we'll have plenty of time to get all of the shots that we want.
What if it rains? Can I reschedule? ☔
Spring weather can be unpredictable, and in the event of rain we simply reschedule to another morning. In fact, you actually pick your preferred rain date at the time of your booking and I reserve that date for you as well.
Can I pop champagne on the Lawn? 🍾
Absolutely! We’ll do this at the very end of the shoot. Don’t forget to bring your bottle with you!
How many photos will I get? 👩🎓
Individual graduation shoots yield 35-40 hand-edited, high-resolution images. Group shoots generate between 60-75 photographs per session.
Can I have all of the photos from the shoot? 🙋♂️
I take lots of shots during a grad session, many of which are identical images spaced just seconds apart. That way if you blink, or if I miss focus, or if a bug flies into the frame I have at least one great shot from the series. As a result we end up with duplicates of the same pose.
If there are several images that look the same I deliver the best one, but do not include multiples of the same pose. In the event that you’re unhappy with your photos I’ll happily work with you to create any additional shots that you want. Your satisfaction is completely guaranteed.
How long will it take for the photos to be ready? ⏳
Typical turnaround is seven days. Once your photos are ready I’ll shoot you an email with a link to your gallery.
Where will my photos be stored? 📂
Your high-res graduation photos will be securely stored in Dropbox where you can access and download them anytime. I do not charge you anything except the session fee (there are no additional charges for downloading the digital files).
What payment methods do you accept? 💳
Venmo, cash, check, credit/debit cards, and interesting bottles of hot sauce.
Do you offer discounts? 💰
I try to be as transparent with my pricing as possible, which is listed at the top of the page. To be fair to everyone I do not offer discounts on graduation shoots.
